Blue Bottoms

“Ugh, we NEVER get a Fall season here”. “I couldn’t even tell you what changing leaves look like”… These are statements you’ll say over and over as a Texan or southern dweller. With that being said there are several advantages to our seemingly never ending summers…

1. VIBRANT FOOTWEAR: Where else can you walk around in Fuchsia flats with vibrant turquoise bottoms deep into October? We strut in shoes like my Teiks flats throughout Fall without batting an eye.

2. YOU HAVE A LOT LONGER TO FLAUNT THAT SUMMER BOD. Still eating heavy carbs by labor day? That’s ok because you still have at least a month to get into that teeny bikini.

3. A SECOND SPRING WITHOUT ALL THE RAIN. Ok, so this one is mostly for me since Spring is my favorite season. Our Falls feel and look a lot like spring. Florals and greenery are still in bloom, the temperatures slowly drop below the 90s and the best part… There is not nearly as much rain.

4. YOU CAN MAXIMIZE OFF THOSE LATE SUMMER SALES: We can stroll into department stores in the middle of September, buy a full wardrobe of on sale. Then be able to enjoy said items for up to two more months. In some cases you could even wear these goodies for the holidays (temperatures were in the 70s on Christmas Day in Dallas last year).
Some of my favorite late season sales…
Last Call 50-75% Clearance on already marked down items
Nasty Gal: 50% OFF EVERYTHING!
Pretty Little Things: 50% of EVERYTHING

5. FALL FLORALS ARE PERFECT FOR SOUTHERNERS: I have always been a lover of florals in the fall. You can pick the brightest most vibrant florals with dark backgrounds and look completely on trend! This fringed Kimono that I bought in early spring years ago STILL works in the fall. The fact that they can be layered over summer ripped denim is a bonus.

Live in the south? How are you styling yourself for the early summer? Are you a Fashion Blogger who actually gets a true Fall? Link your site below… I’d love to see how you’re fashionably swaddling yourselves 😉
