This is NOT a sponsored post, though it may sound this way as you read along. I just really love this dress and the convenience of renting it in a pinch for under $100!
I’ve been blogging for 5 years and have only posted myself in a formal gown once. It happened to be a wedding dress from a previous marriage…

You see I am NOT a fan of fancy dresses. It may sound strange for a style blogger to feel this way but I get anxiety when invited to galas, Christmas parties or black tie NYE soiree’s. I’ll either find an excuse not to go or dress up a cocktail dress I already own.

I’ve been married twice (long story, I’ll tell you later). Both times I looked forward to shopping for a dress because.. well.. it was shopping. However, the experiences left me exhausted and with huge alteration bills. They just don’t make formal gowns with petite curves in mind… That is until now.

I was panicked to find something floor length for a Mardi Gras Gala of which I’d received a media invite. I found myself desperate to avoid the torture of in store shopping and shelling out $$$ for something I’d rarely wear. So I put it off until the last minute. I then had the bright idea of clicking through Rent the Runway and found this lovely thing less than a week before the big night. I ordered 2 sizes to be on the safe side (they allow that at no additional cost) and it arrived a day before my event.

Not only was it structured perfectly for curves, it had the most fabulous yet understated bling. I love that it was in more of a gunmetal tone than over the top silver or gold.
I comfortably danced the night away and will definitely rent it again. Its official, I am a reformed evening gown phobe.
