C’EST PARFAIT
Tee/Skirt: Old, loving this version for Spring/Shoes: Zara Similar/Handbag/Sunglasses/Ring/Bracelet/Earrings: Similar/Lipstick: MAC Lady Danger
I love how this tee offers a brighter spin on the usual nautical look. I also love finding ways of blending my winter holiday pieces (like this skirt) with Spring finds. It provides the opportunity to have fun and get creative.
I’d love to here how y’all are transitioning your colder month items. What winter looks are you mixing in with your Spring wardrobe?
LAST DAYS OF SCARF SEASON
Scarf: Zara, Top: Similar, Jeans: Flying Monkey, Shoes: On Sale, Handbag: Barneys, YLS: Arty Ring, Gold Rings, Coffee Mug, Watch: Michael Kors
The other day I was in the middle of working on a project from home when this cozy blanket scarf arrived at my door. It’s been sold out in stores for quite a while, so I jumped at the chance when I found it in a PoshMark closet. I know that (especially in Texas) my scarf days are numbered. So I filled up my favorite mug with hot cocoa and posed for some quick shots right outside. I’m a little sad that soon this beautiful swaddling piece will be tucked away in my closet. But not to fear, its so warm and classic that I know I’ll be pulling it back out next fall/winter and for years to come.
What about you guys? What are y’all going to miss when winter finally ends?
THE DRESS THAT FOUND ME
Dress: Marciano, Clutch: Kate Spade Old, Shoes: Valentino, Bracelet: Baublebar Ring: YSL, Earrings: Sam Moon, Moto Jacket: Old Similar, Handbag: 3.1 Phillip Lim
So I went to the Dallas Galleria this past weekend in search of a sleek black look for an upcoming fashion show. I wanted something edgy, chic and just a tad sexy. What I left with was this in your face, flowing maxi dress.
After trying on what felt like countless dresses, I had thrown in the towel. Then while on my way out of the mall this dress “called” me from the glamorous racks at Marciano by Guess.
I instantly saw myself wearing it with light accessories on an Anniversary trip with my love. I envisioned it with a light denim vest and stacked bracelets for brunching/shopping. I also saw myself sporting it with this moto jacket and a tough handbag for cooler, edgier nights.
This was far from what I set out to buy but I’m certainly not complaining. It’s like when Matthew Perry turns to Selma Hayek in one of my favorite movies Fools Rush In and says, “You’re everything I never knew I always wanted”.
Do you have a piece in your closet like this? One that found you? I’d love to hear about it.
GOING GREEN
Jacket: Old Similar, Dress: Forever 21, Obsessed with this, Bib Necklace, Personalized Necklace: Eves Addiction, Shoes: Steve Madden here in black, similar style here, Jaguar Bracelet, Black and Gold bracelet: Forever 21, Pave Link Bracelet: Jcrew, Handbag: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Sunglasses: Ray-Ban, Earrings: Similar
I can’t rave enough about how gorgeous the days have been lately. I was so excited to skip over heavy boots in my closet for these neglected leopard sling backs and a fitted midi dress. The air is still just cool enough for a moto jacket, while the sun glistens ever so blingly on my new “Carrie” style necklace.
Hope you all are feeling the love for Valentines Day!
PEPLUM AS A VEST
,
Peplum Top: Forever 21 Similar, Flannel Shirt: H&M Similar, Jeans: J. crew, Shoes: Sole Society, Handbag: 3.1 Phillip Lim Large, Necklace: T & J designs, Lipstick: YSL Violet Incognito, Ring: T & J designs, Nails: China Glaze Ruby Pumps
As much as I love it on others, I’m someone who’s never felt comfortable in the layered sweater look. I find them unflattering on my frame as they make me look boxy. However, I feel very comfortable and even a bit sassy with this peplum top over a jewel toned flannel. I’m excited that I found a way to wear this vegan leather piece I purchased in the summer through these cold months.
Hope you all had magical holidays!
TURNING SUMMER NEUTRALS INTO WINTER WHITES
Rings: Ell and Emm / Necklace: All the Wire / Click icons below for more item details
As I’ve said many times before, I’m just not a fan of bulky winter clothes. Luckily I live in a state that rarely requires more than a heavy sweater and boots.
Which gives me the need to even out this chunky yet oh-so chic Nasty Gal sweater. So I’ve slipped my favorite summer skirt over these platform beauties I scored last Friday. As the silky skirt material swishes over my boots, I feel like some sort of edgy goddess who can do anything!
How are you dolls in warm and uber cold states maximizing your wardrobes will minimizing the bulk?
