Finding 9 to 5 friendly dresses for the summer is no easy feat. Most offices keep the air conditioners blazing but then we find ourselves sweating while heading to lunch. Not to mention those scorching Happy Hours.
I’ve found the perfect combination with this hot pink shirt dress. The silky long sleeves shields our arms from dropped temperatures inside while its breathable material and asymmetric length lend for airier outside moments. Add a vintage, fashion forward or monochromatic belt and you’re ready for just about anything!
How do you plan to keep cool and warm during summer work days?

LITTLE BLACK MIDI
Dress: Alexander Wang / Bag: Chanel / Shoes: Valentino / Bracelets: Loren Hope & Wrist Soiree Sold Out Similar / Nails: OPI / Lipstick: MAC Flat Out Fabulous / Earrings: Simplicity Strand / Rings: Express
I was out shopping for this moto jacket a few weeks ago. As the escalator slowly made its way up, my breath was snatched away by this little black midi dress. Its sexy yet sophisticated form clung softly to the mannequin. The splendid length and gorgeous twist details had me at hello.
My excitement began to fade when I saw that it was in the Alexander Wang section. I have a few splurge items by Wang that I’d saved for. As hot as it was, my wallet wasn’t prepared to justify this dress as a last minute purchase. Still holding my breath, I turned over the price tag. To my surprise it was from Wang’s “T” line and only cost $165! I tried it on and had one of those rare dressing room moments when you love everything about a piece and can’t bear to take it off. I did eventually end up disrobing and carrying it straight to the register!
If you see this dress slung over a hanger please don’t pass it up as another shapeless piece. Do yourself a favor and at least try it on! You’ll thank me later:)
Happy Tuesday Loves!

2 CHAINS
Dress: Nordstrom / Shoes: Aminah Abdul love this frugal version / Sunglasses: Celine / Bag: Chanel / Necklace: Bauble Bar in Colbalt / Lipstick: Chanel / Bracelet: Swell Caroline / Ring: Kendra Scott
A fitted midi dress is one of my favorite things to wear! Especially one that forms to fit and flatter just about any figure. You can dress up this little black one with a slew of jewelry for sassy nights out or something daintier for a sweet date. I’ve even worn them with flats (WHAT?) and a military jacket to go shopping. With today’s look I’ve gone for a cool downtown vibe with my 2 chains, some fun heels and a pop of pink.
At only $54 it’s the gift that will keep giving for seasons to come!
How will you rock this sexy casual look?

BLACK AND WHITE COAT
Coat: BB Dakota / Tank: Forever 21 / Pants: Target / Sunglasses: Karen Walker / Lipstick: MAC Ruby Woo / Watch: Michael Kors / Bracelet: J Crew / Bag: Chanel / Pumps: Christian Louboutin
We haven’t had the coldest of winters here in Dallas and I’m not complaining. There’s yet to be a lick of snow and we hit over 70 degrees on Valentine’s Day. There’s also been no need for chunky outerwear but we have had a few semi-bundle worthy moments. This BB Dakota black and white coat is spot (or should I say square) on for just that.
It’s striking and perfect for transitioning into Spring (my favorite season).
so, how has February been in your neck of the woods?? Having a Winter Wonderland or an early Spring like me?

FLARED DENIM
Blouse: Nordstrom / Jeans: Paige / Shoes: Steve Madden / Bag: Chanel / Earrings: c/o Happiness Boutique / Lipstick: Sephora / Ring: Kendra Scott / Nails: OPI

Today, I’m “wrapping” up 2015 with this pretty black and white top. It’s one of the best shirt silhouettes for all body types and I love the way it pairs with flared denim.
While we’re on the subject of flares, can we talk about how perfect these are? They’re high waisted to give that ever popular 70’s touch. They fit snug and structured yet feel almost as comfy as PJs. Seriously… I never want to take them off! These jeans are in that perfect all-seasons wash. Not too dark or bright which makes them rockable for Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall.
Plus they’re on mega sale right now! So grab your pair fast!

Grey Cold Shoulder Sweater
Sweater: sold out, Love this fitted version / Earrings: c/o Sherrod Sisters / Jeans: Rag N Bone / Boots: Marc Fischer / Bag: Vintage Chanel / Ring: Kendra Scott / Lipstick: MAC Flat Out Fabulous
As I stated last week I’m REALLY having to get creative with my wardrobe lately.
The south still doesn’t know if it’s ready to be spring, or wants to hold on to winter. This is the perfect time to wear chunky yet porous sweaters. The cut outs on this grey cold shoulder sweater also allow for that extra bit of coolness both literally and figuratively.
I also like being able to wear my OTK boots a little longer. However, I’m eagerly counting down the days to lacey dresses and vibrant pumps!
