PERFECT PENCIL SKIRT FOR CURVES

It’s no secret that a penciled midi is my favorite dress silhouette. I had so much fun styling this one here and here. They’re so undeniably feminine and classic. However I have a love hate relationship with this cut in skirts. Meaning… I love them on everyone else and hate them on me.
A lot of my hourglass and pear shaped counter parts will agree. You slip one on, take a few steps and just like that, it’s heading up your waist. Instead of looking confident and chic, you spend the whole day tugging at the sides of your skirt fighting to keep it in place.
Well after years of this battle I’ve FINALLY found one that fits like a glove, has perfect material for office to drinks and will stay in place. The secure yet stretchy waist band is a dream. Then the relaxed elastic/crepe-like material gives way to curves if necessary.
So please run, don’t walk to your nearest Milly carrier and snatch one of these up! If only it came in all colors of the rainbow!

April brings on the most fickle weather. It can be warmly humid outside then cold and clammy once you’re indoors. Strategic layers are definitely in order people!
I love how simple base pieces like this uber inexpensive Leith dress carries us through the ever changing season. I’ve had it for over a year now and still can’t believe than an under $50 dress is able to hold its shape and color so well. Mix with a cinched jacket, bling, leopard clutch and you’re ready to take on whatever April throws your way!
