So there I was minding my own business, online shopping for great holiday pumps when this blazer glamorously attacked me! Anything leopard or sequins will always catch my eye. Blend leopard AND sequins together and I’m in love! With a price tag of only $78 I knew I had to add this jacket along with the red suede pumps to my Nastygal cart.
This sequins goddess will accompany me to holiday parties, casual and dressy. It will also serve as that perfect cover to layer over an oh-so short NYE dress. However, I refuse to stop there. Something this spectacular needs to be worn year round. I’m thinking over black or ripped denim shorts like these and mini skirts/dresses! The possibilities are endless.

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned before, but I am a true city girl at heart. A high rise with a door man and boutiques steps away, has always been my idea of the perfect home.
This is why I was a little more than apprehensive when my husband and I fell in love with (and purchased) a house in… wait for it… the suburbs! Serious questions began to arise. Would I be too far from my friends? Would we be able to find good eats, shopping and more importantly artistic inspiration?
Instead of letting these fears continuously swirl in my head, I threw on this Haute Hippie blazer and surveyed the area. To my surprise, our new neighborhood boasts 3 expansive hubs that could rival any high end shopping mall, an amazing designer outlet center; unique little boutiques and just about every type of cuisine you can imagine. As if that isn’t enough to squash my nervousness, I’m only 20 minutes from the office (with traffic) and 30-45 from the Uptown/Downtown Dallas areas.
What fears have you overcome lately? Did you figure out a way to look and feel stylish in the process?
Hope you’re crushing your Mondays!

I’ve been eyeing this sweater for quite a while but refrained from purchasing because of the plunging neck line. I’m so glad I faced my fears and nabbed it from Nasty Gal. I feel chic, sporty and just the right amount of sexy. This will no doubt be my go to sweater as the weather cools.
So once again I’ll ask one of my favorite questions… How have you stepped out of your fashion comfort zone lately? How did it go?
Happy Monday
CAN’T STOP THE CROP
Top / Skirt: Old Similar / Shoes / Necklace / Bracelet / Rings / Clutch / Sunglasses
Several weeks back I posted a look that was out of my comfort zone. It was my way of jumping head first into the crop trend. I’d formerly believed that any cut off top should be reserved for women under 25. This was prior to trying on one with a high waisted skirt and realizing just how classy they can be.
It’s safe to say that I’m now all about the crop. I even sported this blog post look out for the night of my birthday (with Instagram posts to prove it).
So the moral of this story is that a crop top is what you make it. Wear a high cut one with low slung shorts, or a mini skirt, if you’re feeling risque. Then pair with high waisted jeans or a demure midi skirt for those more modest occasions.
How are y’all wearing your crops?
BORROWED FROM THE BOYS
Vest/Tee/Jeans/Shoes/Bag/Necklace: Thrift/Sunglasses/Watch/Rings/Lipstick: Ruby Woo
I am really loving the menswear inspired fashion that continues to grace shops for Spring. Regretfully I often have to pass because the structured look doesn’t tend to flatter curves as dangerous as mine. However, this vest from Zara lends sharp clean lines in the front while allowing airy movement in the back.
I can’t wait to toss it over almost everything in my closet. I see it working with the look I’m sporting today as well as over a fitted dress or with dressy tanks and white shorts.
What trends have you been reluctant to try and why?
MODERN DEBUTANTE

My high school years did not consist of dates, dances or proms. I was raised in a very strict religion and those rights of passages were simply out of the question. So I’m always up for any chance to twirl in a pretty gown.
This one has all of my favorite elements. It’s uber feminine in pink and has pockets!!! The extreme high low silhouette is so girly but look closer and you’ll find the fabric is surprisingly embossed with edgy leopard print! This may not make up for missing prom but it’s a big step. I feel like quite the modern debutante and so will you!
